Structure of the American Judiciary - Part Two of Two

Last week, we dealt with the structure of the federal judiciary system. This is the last of the two part series and deals with the state judicial systems. Each state of the United States has a different court system. The overall structure in each state is however, similar to that of the federal system i.e. there are courts of general trial jurisdiction, courts of limited jurisdiction, courts of special jurisdiction, courts of intermediate appellate jurisdiction, and finally the court of last resort which is usually the state supreme court.
